What is Clean Sweep Wisconsin (CSW)?

How can we really affect a change in politics?  This is a question many ask themselves after donating time and money to a particular candidate of cause, and then the promises n materialize, little progress is ever noticed and the state of affairs largely remain the same.

I would like to introduce you to Clean Sweep Wisconsin (CSW), a political action committee started to facilitate a grassroots movement to take state government back from the career politicians, lobbyists and special interest groups which are running state government for their own self interest.

The Clean Sweep Wisconsin organization will find and assist candidates to run against current office holders in the Democrat and Republican primary election held on Sept. 9th, 2008.  All CSW candidates sign a contract to fully support and implement the significant reforms outlined in the Clean Sweep Platform.  To demonstrate their strong commitment to the wary voting public, candidates agree to resign from office for voting against the CSW Platform.

My personal experience as a State Senator is this...anything short of this kind of approach will accomplish so little that it will make no difference at all.  I could take up several pages on this web site telling you of first hand experiences how lobbyists and special interest groups inhibit anything meaningful and positive from happening, and several more pages of trying to work with other elected officials who have given up on any real reform effort and make their most important effort that of trying to stay in office.

Many political analysts are claiming that 2008 can be an election year of significant change at the state level.  The Clean Sweep Wisconsin grassroots movement will give voters here in our state a genuine way to accomplish the needed change we are all looking for.
